Grevillea Ensemble with Gagliano String Quartet

Grevillea will present its final subscription concert for 2018 this Sunday October 28th, starting at 2.30pm after a pre-concert talk. We are at the Glebe Justice Centre in St John’s Road in Glebe and we would love you to join us for an entertaining afternoon of music with friends. A highlight of the program will be the Borodin “Piano Quintet in G Minor” in which David will be joined by the Gagliano String Quartet. Wendy will sing some beautiful Borodin songs to complement this major but rarely performed work. Wendy and David will also introduce songs by Australian composers, including three settings by Peter Sculthorpe of poems D.H.Lawrence wrote on his brief trip to Australia in 1922. The program concludes with the beautiful “Chanson perpétuelle” a sextet for voice, string quartet and piano by Ernest Chausson.
